چکیده
Phenolic concentrations are affected by environmental factors and grape cultivar, as well viticultural practices, which should be considered when a specific phenolic profile is intended. The effect of microclimate induced row orientation on compounds Vitis vinifera L. cv. Syrah/101-14 Mgt grapes was investigated. Grapes were harvested from four vintages at 22 °Brix, 24 °Brix 26 N-S, E-W, NE-SW NW-SE orientated grapevine rows. Phenolics quantified in freeze-dried skins using an HPLC method. A vintage only evident for individual phenolics the vintages. rows had highest total flavonols anthocyanins. Catechin N-S whereas acids, caffeic acid °Brix. Isoquercetin kaempferol quercitrin E-W majority results indicate that affects development Syrah grapes, but has limited phenolics. Light fruit zone positively However, it unlikely single index can applied to all growing conditions cultivars. Rows allow moderate radiation intensity canopy (i.e., during day) seem more favourable than light berry temperature resulting have potential widening range wine styles. In practice, desirable may not applicable environments. Management remains option increasing or decreasing exposure, irrespective orientation.

Phenolic compound profiles in berry skins from nine red wine grape cultivars in northwest China.
Phenolic compound profiles were investigated by HPLC-MS in two consecutive years to assess genotypic variation in berry skins of nine red Vitis vinifera cultivars. The results showed that the types and levels of phenolic compounds greatly varied with cultivar. Common wine grape cultivars such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Gernischt and Merlot contained more types of anthocyanins, flavo...
متن کاملPhenolic Contents and Compositions in Skins of Red Wine Grape Cultivars among Various Genetic Backgrounds and Originations
In order to analyze and compare the phenolic characteristics of red wine grapes with diverse genetic backgrounds, skin phenolics among 21 different cultivars belonging to Vitis vinifera L., East Asian and North American Vitis species and hybrids, as well as 2 varieties of muscadine grapes were estimated by HPLC-MS/MS. There were 45 anthocyanins, 28 flavonols, 8 flavan-3-ols, 9 cinnamic acids, 5...
متن کاملComparison of phenolic acids and flavan-3-ols during wine fermentation of grapes with different harvest times.
To explore the effects of harvest time on phenolic compounds during wine fermentation, grape berries (Vitis vinifera L. cv. Vidal) were harvested at 17.5, 22.8 and 37.2 masculine Brix and were used to make dry wine, semi-sweet wine and icewine with low alcohol levels, respectively. Phenolic acids and flavan-3-ols were assayed during the fermentation of wines by means of reverse phase-high perfo...

Experiments were performed to assess the dose-dependent effects of quercetin, kaempferol, (+) catechin, and (-) epicatechin on superoxide radical production through the modulation of manganese superoxide dismutase and xanthine oxidase activities. The experiments were carried out at flavanoid concentrations ranging from 1 µM to 100 µM. This investigation highlighted that flavonols induced opposi...
متن کاملMetabolites are key to understanding health effects of wine polyphenolics.
Phenolic compounds in grapes and wine are grouped within the following major classes: stilbenes, phenolic acids, ellagitannins, flavan-3-ols, anthocyanins, flavonols, and proanthocyanidins. Consumption of foods containing phenolic substances has been linked to beneficial effects toward chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease and colorectal cancer. However, such correlations need to be s...
